President Yoshimoto visited Chiang Mai University

　On October 24 and 25, 2024, President YOSHIMOTO Masahiro visited Chiang Mai University (Thailand), one of KIT’s partner institutions, on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary Celebration International Forum of the Faculty of Medicine. President Yoshimoto gave a lecture entitled “Platform for industry-academia/medical-engineering collaboration in the city of innovation, Kyoto”, introducing KIT’s efforts in industry-academia collaboration through the four neighboring universities in Kyoto and the Kyoto Qualia Forum, as well as KIT’s medical-engineering collaboration system and research trends. He also had an open discussion with Distinguished Professor Bannakij Lojanapiwat, M.D., Dean of Faculty of Medicine, about future cooperation.
　Furthermore, he took the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to President Pongruk Sribanditmongkol M.D., Ph.D. and they both agreed to maintain and strengthen the multifaceted collaboration. In the meeting with the Faculty of Architecture, where many of KIT’s graduates are active, led by Dean Pandin Ounchanum, both parties reconfirmed the results of their long-standing efforts such as the Joint Degree program and workshops. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the possibility of student exchange with the Dean of the College of Engineering.
　Both universities reaffirmed their intention to further deepen their relationship as next year marks 20 years since the signing of their partnership agreement.
