To All Students, Faculty and Administrators,
Re: Notice on Required Anti-Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Measures (13th official communication)
At Kyoto Institute of Technology, we conducted all first semester classes online; however, from the second semester, we have decided to partially resume face-to-face classes. This is something that was carefully considered, taking into account not only the current situation of COVID-19, but various other factors, such as the educational outcomes of the online classes of the previous semester, the importance of various experiences that can be gained on campus, as well as students’ emphatic requests. We have decided that face-to-face classes are indispensable for an institution of engineering and design such as our own. Accordingly, alternative measures for face-to-face classes will, in principle, not be implemented. We will resume face-to-face classes, having made sure that adequate measures against COVID-19 are in place. At the same time, we will resume extracurricular activities and will open facilities, such as the University Library and the Museum and Archives.
In light of resuming face-to-face classes, we have established a “Manual on Limiting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission” (hereinafter Manual). From the starting date of the second semester (September 28), you are requested to strictly follow the guidelines of this Manual. If you have individually received other instructions, follow those instructions, as well.
We ask for your continued cooperation in consistently implementing basic infectious disease control, such as avoiding the “3Cs”, and washing and disinfecting your hands, etc., in order to protect your own health and limit infecting others.
