Kyoto Prefecture “Enhanced BA.5 (Omicron COVID-19 Subvariant) Countermeasures” Revision

The number of new positive cases of novel coronavirus infection remains high. As hospital bed occupancy rates and other medical and emergency service indicators are also high, Kyoto has extended its period of enhanced countermeasures. The current recommendations KIT has issued to prevent the spread of infection remain unchanged, but in light of this prefectural revision, we ask that each and every one of you take renewed precautions to prevent the spread of infection.

【The main revisions to Kyoto’s “Directive on Enhanced Measures Against BA.5” are as follows.】
?In order to ensure a safe and comfortable student life as we begin the second semester, follow the infection control rules established by KIT and the government regarding classes, research activities, extracurricular activities, and dormitory/student housing life.
?Take good care of your health by taking and recording your temperature every morning, and refraining from going to the university if you or your family members have a fever, cough or other symptoms.
?Even when eating or drinking, be sure to put your mask on again when talking. Do not speak loudly and do not remain in a restaurant or other drinking/dining space for a long period of time.

Duration of the Revised Directive: Until September 30, 2022
(*This period may be revised depending on the infection rates and other factors.)
