To all Students, Faculty and Staff,

Re: Measures to prevent the resurgence of infections in light of Kyoto Prefecture’s high alert period

��Following the rapid spread of COVID-19, Kyoto Prefecture has reached the high alert stage.
Accordingly, Kyoto Prefecture has formulated measures to prevent the resurgence of the infection, and has requested that people refrain from traveling to and from areas where the infection is spreading, promote telework, and implement measures to prevent a resurgence of the infection among university students. In addition, Kyoto City has issued an urgent request to universities to cooperate in preventing the spread of the infection.
In light of the above, Kyoto Institute of Technology will implement the measures below. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in implementing these measures.

• Refrain from traveling to and from areas where the infection is spreading, including Osaka Prefecture, Hyogo Prefecture, Tokyo metropolitan area and the prefectures of Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa (commuting to work or school is excluded)
• Consider the necessity for traveling even for areas within Kyoto Prefecture and act accordingly
• To the extent that it does not interfere with the performance of your duties, actively promote teleworking or staggered working hours
• Refrain from attending events that involve eating and drinking (welcome and farewell parties, events with a large number of people etc.)
• Regarding extracurricular activities, take thorough measures to prevent infection and avoid activities with a particularly high risk of infection

��In addition to the above, please continue to follow the ��Kyoto Institute of Technology Manual on Limiting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission��.

��Please note that the risk of infection is particularly high during eating and drinking occasions. Be sure to observe the ��Kyoto Manners�� when eating and drinking.

��Kyoto Manners��
• Dine at places with appropriate partitions and ventilation
• Wear a mask when talking
• Disinfect your hands before eating and when leaving a restaurant
• Do not talk loudly when at a restaurant
• Limit the time to 2 hours and the number of people to 4 or less

��We ask for your continued cooperation in following the ��Kyoto Institute of Technology Manual on Limiting Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Transmission�� and consistently implementing basic infection control measures. Avoid the ��3Cs�� (crowded places, close contact settings and closed spaces), maintain social distancing from others, wear a mask and wash and disinfect your hands. Also, actively practice the “new lifestyle” (limiting unnecessary contact with people, etc.) in order to protect your health and prevent others from becoming infected.
