KIT has been selected for the 2024 MEXT fund “Inter-University Exchange Project; Promoting Inter-University Exchange with European Universities”
The “Inter-University Exchange Project” is a public call project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology – Japan (MEXT), which aims to promote quality-assured cooperation and student exchange with universities in countries and regions of importance to Japan, and to realize education with a high level of international acceptability by supporting initiatives that strengthen the global development capabilities of Japanese higher education. In 2024, MEXT issued a public call for a project to establish and implement a quality-assured international exchange program between Japanese and EU universities entitled “Promoting Inter-University Exchange with European Universities”. KIT’s proposal, “JoinTECH Laboratories for Smart Materials Leader Development”, was selected as Type A (exchange type). The project will run from October 4, 2024 to March 31, 2029.
Focusing on highly functional and cutting-edge materials fields such as semiconductor materials, KIT plans to conduct education and research exchanges with partner universities in Europe in an integrated manner, from undergraduate to graduate and doctoral programs, under a university-wide responsibility and education system. KIT aims to nurture Materials TECH LEADERS who, based on their knowledge and skills in the field of materials, can successfully lead projects by demonstrating leadership in the global arena, while utilizing KIT’s unique “3×3 Education System” and realizing a comprehensive exchange program based on research in individual fields of specialization.
